The topper actually has two stars that are joined with slats of wood to hold them together so that it slides over the top of your tree.

I think the topper would also look fabulous in the middle of a table centerpiece painted on both sides and surrounded by evegreen sprigs, pinecones and candles! Let me know how you decorated and used yours!!
